§ 22. Mr. SWANasked the Secretary of State for War whether men at Clipstone Camp, Notts, are standing to in readiness to proceed to strike-break; and whether armoured cars and Lewis guns mounted are ready to proceed at a moment's notice against strikers?
Captain GUESTNo troops are being held in readiness to proceed to "strike-break," and it has never been the policy 1919 of the Government to use troops for such a purpose. But I would refer the hon. Member to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on Monday of last week that the Government would take every means in their power to protect the mines.
