HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 cc1934-5
61. Mr. MARRIOTT

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what action, if any, with a view to the simplification of the inspectorate of the Board of Agriculture, Under the Diseases of Animals Acts, has been taken since his statement of 13th June, 1918, in reference to the recommendations of the Select Committee on National Expenditure?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD Of AGRICULTURE (Sir Arthur Boscawen)

The President of the Board has accepted the recommendations of the Select Committee on the question referred to, but action has been delayed in consequence of the exceptional pressure upon the division arising out of the outbreak of rabies.

Mr. MARRIOTT

May I ask what that decision was?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

To accept the decision of the Departmental Committee.

Mr. MARRIOTT

I was referring, not to the Departmental Committee, but to the Select Committee on National Expenditure.

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

It is my mistake. I should have said the Report of the Select Committee.
