§ 18. Mr. ARCHDALEasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland if the Irish resident magistrates, whose pay and allowances have not been increased for very many years, have been promised a permanent increase of pay and travelling allowance; and, if so, if he will explain why it has not yet been paid them?
Mr. HENRYMy right hon. and learned Friend the Chief Secretary is in favour of increased remuneration for resident magistrates, and is in correspondence with the Treasury on this subject.
