HC Deb 21 July 1919 vol 118 cc867-8
1. Sir J. D. REES

asked the President of the Board of Trade what amount of tea is now held up at the London Docks owing to want of means of distribution?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Auckland Geddes)

While I have received information that some holding up of tea in the London Docks has occurred recently, the quantity involved is less than half a week's import at the rate at which tea has recently been reaching London. I am, however, unable at present to say whether the information supplied to me is exhaustive. I may add that deliveries in recent months have been in excess of the average.
