HC Deb 21 July 1919 vol 118 c877
56. Mr. RAMSDEN

asked the Prime Minister whether the Cabinet has considered the question of making a part experiment with the nationalisation of the coal mines; and what decision in that case has been reached?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I am not in a position to make any statement.

Mr. HARTSHORN

When will the Government be in a position to make a statement?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I cannot say. I am sure my hon. Friend and the House will realise that it is a subject that cannot be rushed hastily and that it must be properly considered.

Lord ROBERT CECIL

Does my right hon. Friend think he will be able to make any statement before the Adjournment?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I really cannot say as to that. We shall certainly not delay longer than it is absolutely necessary.
