HC Deb 21 July 1919 vol 118 c914
80. Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESS

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions how many officials were employed by the Ministry of Munitions at a salary of £100 a year and upwards on 11th November, 1918, and at the present time, respectively?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The total staff of the Ministry numbered 25,144 on 11th November, 1918, as against 14,019 at present. Approximately, 1,500 of the present staff and a slightly larger proportion of the staff on 11th November, 1918, were or are employed at salaries of £100 per annum or less.

Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESS

Is there any prospect of a further early reduction?

Mr. KELLAWAY

Yes, Sir.
