HC Deb 21 July 1919 vol 118 cc882-3
32. Colonel YATE

asked the Secretary of State for India if he can now state whether the reply of the Government of India regarding the question of awards for the defence of Kut has been received; and when a statement may be expected as to what steps it is proposed to take to give due recognition to the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men, both British and Indian, who were engaged in that gallant defence?

The SECRETARY Of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Montagu)

The reply has not yet been received from the Government of India; but they have informed me that it will be sent as soon as possible. I have sent a telegram of reminder.
