Mr. CHAMBERLAINOwing to the very large number of applications which have still to be dealt with by the banks, I cannot give the House any estimate of the result of the Loan at present. It may be possible to make a preliminary statement towards the end of the week. May I take this, the earliest possible opportunity, of expressing my most grateful thanks to all those who have assisted in the work on which I have been engaged, whether on the earth or in the air.
