Major NEWMANasked the Food Controller whether he will give the names 45 of the members constituting the Consumers' Council, an advisory body attached to his Ministry; were only trade unions, wholesale co-operative societies, and similar interests consulted in the constitution of the council; and is it intended to reconstitute the council and make it representative of all classes of the consuming public?
Mr. ROBERTSThe constitution of the Consumers' Council and the names of its members were stated in the answer of the 25th February, to which the hon. and gallant Member was referred last Wednesday. I am consulting the council as to whether any change in its constitution could usefully be made at the present time.
