HC Deb 14 July 1919 vol 118 cc3-4
13. Mr. HOLMES

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether a conference of superintendents of railways was recently held in Scotland, to which the superintendents and their wives travelled in special saloons; that the programme of the conference included a tour of Scotland by the whole party, and that several dinners were held, one of which alone cost £258; and whether the taxpayers of the country are paying for these festivities?

Mr. BRIDGEMEN

I had not previously heard of this matter, but I am making inquiries.
