HC Deb 14 July 1919 vol 118 cc8-9
7. Mr. SEDDON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Regulation for the importation of chinaware, earthenware, and pottery from any country with which trading is permitted will allow trading with the enemy through countries now separated from Austria; and whether the decision is in contradiction to the recommendation made by the Committee to the Department of Import Restrictions?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

These goods are at present on the restricted list, and, in accordance with the terms of the general licence issued on Saturday, are not allowed to be imported from Germany or German-Austria.

Mr. FRANCE

Are any materials required for housing schemes also on the restricted list?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The list has been published in the "Board of Trade Journal," and I would rather that my hon. Friend consulted it.
