§ 56. Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if his attention has been drawn to the 769 proposition, of the Allied Government of Czecho-Slovakia for a levy on capital, beginning at fortunes of 20,000 crowns, and graduated up to 30 per cent, on larger fortunes, with a view to deflating the currency; and if he will call for a report on the working of the levy from our representatives with that government for the information of the House of Commons?
My information on the subject is at present imperfect, but I shall endeavour to get a report on the working of the levy if and when it comes into force.
