HC Deb 26 February 1919 vol 112 c1726
30. Dr. M'DONALD

asked what tangible recognition will be made to the officers and men of the British Mercantile Marine and pilot services in respect of their services in safeguarding the nation's food supply during the War?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Bridge-man)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. A medal will be awarded in recognition of the services rendered during the War by the members of the Mercantile Marine. This medal will also be given to the sea-going pilot services.
