HC Deb 20 February 1919 vol 112 c1120
41. Mr. GEORGE BALFOUR

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether a Bill will be introduced at an early date providing for a revision of the naturalisation laws of this country?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Shortt)

In view of the Act making important amendments in the law of nationality and naturalisation which was passed last August, I do not think there is any immediate need of further legislation. Certain further questions not dealt with in that Act are under consideration in consultation with the self-governing Dominions and India with a view to the introduction of legislation, if necessary, at a convenient time.
