HC Deb 13 February 1919 vol 112 cc271-2
66. Captain TERRELL

asked the Prime Minister if he can now state the policy of the Government in regard to securing to the country the greatest possible production from agriculture; and whether it is intended to enlarge or extend the principles of the Corn Production Act?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It is not possible in answer to a question to indicate the steps taken, or proposed to be taken, by the Government to secure the greatest possible production from agriculture. As regards the last part of the question, I am not yet in a position to state whether it will be necessary to extend or enlarge the Corn Production Bill.

Captain TERRELL

May I put this question down a week from to-day?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I am afraid it is impossible to give an answer so rapidly as that. I am sure my hon. and gallant Friend will realise that we cannot do business so quickly as he and I would like.
