HC Deb 15 December 1919 vol 123 cc39-40
78. Major M'KENZIE WOOD

asked the Prime Minister whether Viscount Grey of Falloden has intimated to the Government his intention to return from Washington; whether he has asked to be relieved of his special mission and has advised the immediate appointment of a permanent. Ambassador to the United States; and, if so, whether the Government will immediately appoint an Ambassador so that British interests may not suffer by undue delay in selecting an Ambassador?

THE PRIME MINISTER

Lord Grey has asked to come on leave of absence in order to discuss many important questions with His Majesty's Government, and this request has been granted.
