HC Deb 04 December 1919 vol 122 c577
66. Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government would give a day for the discussion of the, restrictions on the export of palm kernels and other vegetable oil products from the British dependencies to territories other than British?

The PRIME MINISTER

I do not think that there would be a general desire for this discussion, and the pressure upon Parliamentary time is very great.

Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the present restrictive policy of the Government is causing great discontent among the native producers, and also dissatisfaction among merchants at home?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am not sure. There are two sides to that question, and I cannot discuss it with my hon. Friend now.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

May we not have an opportunity of discussing this—[HON. MEMBERS: Order, order!"]

Mr. SPEAKER

I must ask the hon. Member to restrain himself. I must warn him against constant interruptions, which may lead to reprisals.
