§ 39. Colonel ASHLEYasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is prepared to consider a modification of Article 1,236 of the Royal Warrant, so that medals earned in the Great War shall not be necessarily forfeited in the case of a man found subsequently guilty by court-martial of desertion or fraudulent enlistment, unless the offence occurred on active service; and if his record in the Great War makes him worthy of this consideration?
