Mr. GILBERTasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the question of church parades -which now exist in the Army; and whether, in view of the objection of both officers and men to this form of Sunday duty, he can see his way to abolish the present practice or whether it can be modified in any way so that men are not compelled to attend this duty?
Captain GUESTIt is not considered desirable to amend the King's Regulations as regards compulsory attendance at church parades. I will see, however, whether anything can be done to shorten the perliminary inspection.
