HC Deb 01 December 1919 vol 122 c37
73. Captain R. TERRELL

asked the Food Controller whether, in view of the value of rabbits as food, he will consider the desirability of urging the Revenue authorities to waive the Entertainments Tax on country shows held to improve the breed of rabbits?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of FOOD (Mr. McCurdy)

The Food Controller does not in all the circumstances consider that he would be justified in urging the Commissioners of Customs and Excise to make an exception to their general practice in favour of rabbit shows.
