§ (1) This Act may be cited as the Acquisition of Land (Assessment of Compensation) Act, 1919, 1758 and shall come into operation on the first day of July, nineteen hundred and nineteen, but shall not apply to the determination of any question where before that date the appointment of an arbitration, valuation, or other tribunal to determine the question has been completed, or a jury has been empanelled for the purpose.
§ Lords Amendment:
§ In Sub-section (1), leave out the word "July"[on the 1st of July";, and insert instead thereof the word "September."
§ Sir G. HEWARTI beg to move, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment."
Lieut.-Colonel MURRAYOf course it is necessary to alter the word "July" to the word "September," but I should like to take the opportunity of saying that the Amendments moved in another place have certainly not improved this Bill.
§ Mr. DEPUTY-SPEAKERThat is not quite relevant to the word "September."
§ Question put, and agreed to.
