Mr. BOWERMANasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware 2886 that, as a result of the Board's decision to remove the embargo upon the importation of manufactured paper at the end of the present month, many paper mills are being either worked short time or entirely closed, throwing many hundreds of workpeople out of work; whether he has received requests from the trade, employers and employed, that the import restrictions should remain operative until September; and whether, under the circumstances, he can see his way to favourably consider such requests?
