HC Deb 15 April 1919 vol 114 c2700
25. Mr. SPOOR

asked whether it has been decided to withdraw all soldiers in agricultural companies of the Labour Corps, together with those men of other units attached to the Labour Corps who are at present working on the land; and whether, in view of the approaching seedtime and the effect of removing labour from the land at this period, this decision will be reconsidered?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. This decision was arrived at by the Cabinet after very careful consideration of all the aspects of the matter, and I regret that it cannot be reconsidered from the military point of view.
