HC Deb 14 April 1919 vol 114 cc2495-6
58. Mr. LUNN

asked the Prime Minister whether he will provide facilities for this House to discuss the Motion on the Paper on the subject of the East India Criminal Law (Amendment) Bills in the name of the hon. Members for Bishop Auckland and others?

[The following is the Motion referred to: That, in the opinion of this House, the operation of the two Criminal Law (Amendment) Bills, which issued from the Rowlatt Report and which have recently been before the Indian Legislature, should be suspended until this House has had an opportunity of expressing an opinion upon them."]

Mr. BONAR LAW

Perhaps the hon. Member will put down the question again after the Recess, and I shall in the meantime consult my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for India.
