HC Deb 14 April 1919 vol 114 c2476
20. Sir A. WILLIAMSON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Department whether arrangements are being made to appoint inspectors who shall regularly visit and report upon British Consulates abroad?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND (Department of Overseas Trade)

An Inspector-General of Consulates has been appointed and is at present engaged on his duties. In the scheme of reform of the Consular Service proposals are made for the appointment of further inspectors.
