HC Deb 10 April 1919 vol 114 c2223
78. Lieutenant-Colonel Sir J. HOPE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions if he will state how he proposes to deal with surplus military stores; and whether, in order to avoid the expense of middlemen and the transport of stores, he will arrange that from time to time public auctions should be held in all military camps and stations where there are surplus huts, furniture, and implements which can be used on the land, or any other stores which are likely to be purchased locally?

Mr. HOPE

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the statement made in the House by the Deputy-Minister of Munitions on the 5th March last, and the various public announcements which have from time to time appeared on the subject.
