HC Deb 10 April 1919 vol 114 c2220
73. Mr. HAILWOOD

asked the Food Controller whether he is aware that the Manchester meat supply averages 75 per cent. frozen meat and 25 per cent. home-killed, whilst in the case of Liverpool and Birkenhead these figures are reversed; and whether this distribution is due to the present lack of ships on the Irish cross-Channel service to Manchester?

Mr. ROBERTS

The hon. Member's statement is not correct. The average percentages of home-killed meat issued in the areas of Liverpool and Manchester have during the last few weeks been 49.4 per cent. and 51.7 per cent., respectively.
