§ Sir R. HORNETwo thousand three hundred and twenty-four discharged and demobilised officers and men of similar qualifications are known to have been placed by the Appointments Department with firms with whom they were not engaged prior to joining His Majesty's Forces. A number of officers, however, fail to notify the Department when placed. There are now 9,128 officers and men of similar qualifications registered with the Appointments Department who are immediately available for engagement by employers.
