Colonel THORNEasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the practice of the Courts of Referees to disallow donation benefit to young women who decline to undertake night work, although the Factory Acts specially provide that young persons should not be called upon to undertake night work; and if he will take action in the matter?
§ Sir R. HORNESo far as I am aware, it is not the practice of Courts of Referees to disallow donation benefit in the circumstances mentioned in the hon. and gallant Member's question. If he will give me particulars of any such cases of refusal as have come to his knowledge, I will make inquiries and let him know the result.
