HC Deb 03 April 1919 vol 114 c1371
50. Major HILLS

asked the Prime Minister whether he will declare Easter Saturday, 19th April, a Bank Holiday in order that the staffs of the banks may get three clear days' holiday at Easter as do nearly all other workers?

Mr. BALDWIN

Proclamations will be issued in Great Britain and Ireland, respectively, making Saturday, 19th April, a Bank Holiday, but it is not intended that it should be kept as a general holiday.
