HC Deb 02 April 1919 vol 114 cc1192-3
60. Major NALL

asked the Secretary for War if he will publish the rules under which evidence will be admitted to the Committee inquiring into courts-martial?

Mr. CHURCHILL

It will be for the Committee to determine their own procedure in such a matter, and they are by their composition very well qualified to do so.

Major NALL

Will the right hon. Gentleman see that the rules are published when the Committee has framed them?

Mr. CHURCHILL

If you appoint a very competent Committee, it is always left for the Committee to conduct their inquiry in their own way, and that is the usual course.

Colonel GREIG

Will the right hon. Gentleman be prepared to receive the names of gentlemen who are willing to give evidence and who have had special knowledge of this subject?

Mr. CHURCHILL

No, Sir. I hope all those suggestions will be addressed to the president of the Committee.
