§ 20. Mr WATTasked the Financial Secretary, to the War Office whether his attention has been called to the shortage of warm underwear in Scotland on account of all wool having been commandeered by his Department; and, if so, can he see his way to release a larger quantity for civilian use?
§ Mr. FORSTERThe reduced production for civil purposes of woollen underwear in all parts of the country has been unavoidable in consequence of military demands, which have necessarily received priority over civil requirements. In view of the change of the military position, it is hoped that it will be possible shortly to release a large quantity of wool for civil use.
