§ 47. Mr. R. LAMBERTasked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that Mr. W. Sutherland was until recently an established Civil servant, and at what date he ceased so to be; whether, before that date, he had had any communication with a political organisation in the constituency for which he has been selected a candidate for Parliament in reference to such candidature; and whether his conduct was in accordance with the rules of the Civil Service?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWI am informed that the gentleman referred to had resigned his appointment in the Civil Service 3345 before he had any communication with the political organisation of the constituency for which he is now a candidate.
