HC Deb 12 November 1918 vol 110 c2481
23. Colonel THORNE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he can give any reason why the War Office refuse commissions to women doctors; and if he will take action in the matter?

Mr. MACPHERSON

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which I gave on Wednesday last to my hon. Friend the Member for London University. I am informed that, even if the Government agreed to the proposal, there is no possibility of the necessary legislation being introduced this Session.
