HC Deb 05 November 1918 vol 110 c1915
Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK (by Private Notice)

asked the Home Secretary whether in view of the public anxiety as to the destitute condition of the British and Indian prisoners of War in Turkey, he can give assurances that the promptest possible measures will be taken to afford them relief and obtain their release?

Sir G. CAVE

The Government is in constant communication with the British naval and military authorities on the spot and immediate steps are being taken to secure the return of British and Indian prisoners as early as possible. Supplies of food and clothing which had already been arranged for are being placed at the disposal of the British Admiral in the Eastern Mediterranean for use in such manner as he thinks best.
