HC Deb 05 November 1918 vol 110 c1921
44. Major PEEL

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he will consider the desirability of circularising colleges, charities, and similar public bodies with a view to ascertaining whether they are willing to lease suitable land to the Board for the purposes of land settlement under the Small Holdings Colonies Acts; whether, in view of the difficulties in the way of obtaining land for small holdings under the Small Holdings Acts, he will consider the desirability of asking these institutions whether they have suitable land available; and whether, on the occasion of any change of tenancy, they will communicate with the Board, with a view to the land being offered to the county councils on lease under the Small Holdings Acts?

Sir R. WINFREY

The action which my hon. and gallant Friend suggests has already been taken, and I will send him a copy of the Board's circular letter of the 13th September last on the subject.
