HC Deb 05 November 1918 vol 110 cc1903-4
15. Major NEWMAN

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is able to say that the service and campaign pensions of our veteran sailors and soldiers have been increased; is this increase as far as possible now in operation, and does this increase mean that no veteran entitled to such pension, and who has attained the age of seventy years, is in receipt of less than 15s. a week?

Mr. FORSTER

Campaign pensioners have received the same advance of 2s. 6d. as old age pensioners. The minimum payment to a campaign pensioner of seventy or over, including old age pension, is now 12s. 9d. As regards increase of Service pensions, I must refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Blackpool on 22nd October.

29. Mr. HOGGE

asked the Pensions Minister to state what increases he proposes on pensions; and whether the House will have an opportunity of discussing such increases before or after they are determined?

Sir A. GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN

I am not yet in a position to make any statement.
