HC Deb 05 November 1918 vol 110 cc1902-3
6. Mr. COTTON

asked the Under-secretary of State for War whether he is aware of the hardship that is caused by the delay which takes place in the payment of bonus and other moneys due to a soldier on discharge; and whether he will arrange that these payments shall be made in future at the time of discharge?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

The procedure for dealing with discharged soldiers has been revised recently, and cases of delay in the settlement of soldiers' accounts should now be rare. If the hon. Member will bring any specific cases to my notice I will have them investigated.
