HC Deb 04 November 1918 vol 110 cc1801-20
Mr. RUNCIMAN

What business will be taken on Wednesday and Thursday?

Mr. BONAR LAW

On Wednesday we shall take the School Teachers (Superannuation) Bill (Third Reading), the Parliament (Qualification of Women's) Bill (Committee), the Report stage of the Tithes Bil, and any other small Bills if possible.

On Thursday we shall take the Supplementary Estimates, and the further stages of other Bills.

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Which Orders are we taking to-day?

Mr. BONAR LAW

All the Orders as far as we can get.

Mr. PRINGLE

With regard to the Report stage of the Tithes Bill, the President of the Board of Agriculture suggested that certain conferences might take place before the Report stage, and under these circumstances would it not be possible to postpone the taking of this Bill until a later date?

Mr. BONAR LAW

This is the first I have heard of that.

Mr. LLEWELYN WILLIAMS

Does the right hon. Gentleman know that the President of the Board of Agriculture said last Wednesday that he hoped before the Report stage of the Tithe Bill was leached there would be a conference between the Welsh county councils and the Welsh Church?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The hon. Member will understand that I am not conversant with all these arrangements. If there has been any misunderstanding of that kind, of course the Bill will not be taken to-day.

Mr. DILLON

Does the right hon. Gentlemen propose to go on to-day with the Second Reading of the Irish Land (Provision for Sailors and Soldiers) Bill?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I said I proposed to go on with anything I could, but that is one of which I have no hope.

Colonel Sir JAMES REMNANT

When will the Police (Pensions) Bill be taken?

Mr. HOUSTON

When is it proposed to take the Vote of Credit?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I expect the Vote of Credit will be taken on Monday.
