§ 70. Mr. CURRIEasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether grocers, co-operative or other, can now sell tea at less than 2s. 8d. per 1b.; whether all suggestions of objections on the part of the Government to their doing so have been publicly withdrawn; whether a similar line of action has been announced or is under consideration in connection with other articles of food, such as margarine, for which a maximum price has been fixed; and whether any limitation is placed upon the right of a retailer to raise his price for, say, tea again to the fixed maximum after having once reduced it so as to secure registration of customers?
