Mr. CATHCART WASONasked the Under-Secretary for War if his attention has been directed to the case of a young gentleman who volunteered at the age of seventeen, and was assured that he should have the privilege of the choice of a regiment and that he selected the Royal Garrison Artillery, his education and requirements peculiarly fitting him for this branch of the Service; whether he is aware that all the promises made him were disregarded and that he was badly fed and housed and refused any leave; and if, under all these circumstances, inquiry will be made into the facts of the case, so that the responsibility for his treatment be fixed in the right quarter?
