HC Deb 14 May 1918 vol 106 c179
7. Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked the Under-Secretary for War if his attention has been directed to the case of a young gentleman who volunteered at the age of seventeen, and was assured that he should have the privilege of the choice of a regiment and that he selected the Royal Garrison Artillery, his education and requirements peculiarly fitting him for this branch of the Service; whether he is aware that all the promises made him were disregarded and that he was badly fed and housed and refused any leave; and if, under all these circumstances, inquiry will be made into the facts of the case, so that the responsibility for his treatment be fixed in the right quarter?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I am having inquiries made into this case, and will communicate with my hon. Friend as soon as possible.
