HC Deb 14 May 1918 vol 106 c189
25. Sir JOHN JARDINE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether the many hinds in the county of Roxburgh who each keep only one milch cow have been prohibited from gelling the milk except to grocers; whether the result is found to be a large decrease in the supply of milk and decrease in the household profits without any increased advantage in the manufacture and sale of cheese from want of dairy rooms and appliances; and whether any alteration of prohibitions or any other means of supply or profit have been suggested to these daily workers on the farms?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of FOOD (Mr. Clynes)

I am informed that no prohibition has been issued to the effect indicated in the first part of the question, and that there is, therefore, no resultant loss.
