§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of NATIONAL SERVICE (Mr. Beck)The number of men of Russian and Italian nationality posted for service with the British forces under the respective military conventions up to the 31st March last, is 2,822 Russians and 426 Italians. The Ministry of National Service has no record of the grounds upon Which Russians and Italians are granted or refused exemptions.
§ Colonel WEDGWOODCan the hon. Gentleman say whether any steps have been taken by the Minister of National Service to enlist the thousands of Russian 2131 officers who have expressed their willingness to serve in the ranks of the British Army in order to fight the Germans?
