HC Deb 08 May 1918 vol 105 c2181
Mr. ASQUITH

May I ask the Leader of the House if to-morrow will be given for the discussion of the Motion standing in my name, and if the House will sit on Friday?

The following is the motion above referred to: That a Select Committee of this House be appointed to inquire into the allegations of incorrectness in certain Statements of Ministers of the Crown to this House, contained in a letter of Major-General Maurice, late Director of Military Operations, published in the Press on the 7th day of May.

Mr. BONAR LAW

Yes, it is proposed to take the Motion of my right hon. Friend to-morrow. It is not necessary to ask the House to sit on Friday.

Mr. PRINGLE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when the Home Rule Bill will be introduced?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I cannot.

Mr. PRINGLE

Is there any likelihood that it will be introduced before Whitsuntide?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Yes, we hope so.
