Mr. LYNCHasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he will consider the possibility during the present Session of introducing legislation to amend Section 7 of 25 and 26 Vic, c. 83 (Irish Poor Law Further Amendment Act, 1862), by giving power to a board of guardians, on the recommendation of a medical officer, to send any poor person, whether an inmate of the workhouse or not, to an extern hospital for treatment?

Member for West Cavan in the OFFICIAL REPORT of Monday last, representations as to the necessity for such an amendment in the law have been received and are being considered.
