WILSONasked the Minister of Munitions whether he is aware of the shortage of housing accommodation in Lincoln; that there is unrest amongst the munition workers there in consequence of the shortage and the evictions taking place; and whether he will schedule Lincoln as a specified area, with a view to prohibiting the eviction of munition worker?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of MUNITIONS (Mr. Kellaway)A shortage of housing accommodation is known to exist in Lincoln, and a scheme for the erection of permanent houses has already been formulated. The question of declaring Lincoln a special area for the purposes of Regulation 2A. (2) of the Defence of the Realm Regulations is also under consideration, but the present information of the Department is that not more than six ejectment orders have been issued during the last twelve months, and only one during the last four months.
