§ Mr. BONAR LAWLord Sands has been paid at the rate of £3,600 a year, the salary attaching to his post, since the 21st July, 1917, the date of his appointment.
§ Mr. WATTIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that the Court of Session rose for the long vacation on the 21st July, and this judge therefore bad a quarter's salary without being asked to do any duties? Is this the economy of the Government?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWYes; I am aware of it through questions put by the hon. Member, who has devoted his energy to the Secretary for Scotland, which I advise him to continue.
