§ 39. Sir R. COOPERasked the First Commissioner of Works if he will state how many hotels in Glasgow have been commandeered for the use of Government Departments; will he state which they are; and is he satisfied that each is urgently necessary for the work of the Government?
§ The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS (Sir Alfred Mond)The only hotel in Glasgow which has been commandeered by my Department is the Windsor, which is being occupied by the Munitions and Shipyard Labour Supply Departments and the Live Stock Commissioners. I should not have consented to its being commandeered unless I had been satisfied that such action was necessary in the public interest.
