Captain SHEEHANasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is aware that it is desirable that a national conference on the question of rehousing in Ireland should be immediately summoned; will he take steps to this end with a view to eliciting the views and co-ordinating the proposals of the various interests concerned; and will he see that, in a matter affecting the welfare of the working classes, accredited representatives of the Labour organisations of the country will be consulted?
§ Mr. SAMUELSI would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answers given by the Chief Secretary to his questions on this subject on the 14th and 21st February.
§ Captain SHEEHANThe reply of the right hon. Gentleman then said that he was considering the matter. I want to know how long it is going to be considered, and whether something is not going to be done on a matter of national urgency—the question of rehousing?
