HC Deb 25 June 1918 vol 107 c893
66. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that naval ratings from naval depots and harbour ships are being requisitioned to scrub down transports after troops have disembarked and to clean up in the yards; and, seeing that this work is not regarded by the naval ratings as being work they should be called upon to perform, can he say what the Regulations are in this matter?

Dr. MACNAMARA

I have made inquiry at the Admiralty and cannot find any information as to the practices referred to. If my hon. Friend will furnish me with any details known to him, I will have inquiry made.
